The AAUW Florida Supporting Foundation was approved as a 501(C)(3) federal income tax exempt corporation in January 2018 and registered as a Florida corporation by the Florida Secretary of State. It is separate from the AAUW Florida 501(C)(4) organization. The Foundation was established to receive income-tax-deductible contributions from corporations and individuals for projects that have been approved by the Foundation. Donations to the Foundation will be income-tax-deductible to the donor to the fullest extent of the law.
- Projects. Any projects undertaken by the Supporting Foundation must be both charitable and educational and support the AAUW mission. The only project currently supported are the Tech Trek camps for girls who will be entering the 8th grade at the beginning of an academic school year. This week-long camp is free to the girls, but their families must pay a $50 registration fee after the girls have been invited to attend the camp. For additional information about the camp, go to the Florida Tech Trek website.
- Guidelines. The Foundation has its own bylaws and has developed guidelines for projects that it will be able support. To learn more about the Foundation and its projects, read the AAUW-FL Supporting Foundation Bylaws and the Foundation Guidelines & General Information.
